What is Kindy Uplift funding?
Kindy Uplift funding is available to all approved Queensland Kindergarten Program Providers, and is designed to:
- ‘Lift’ the outcomes of kindergarten cohorts through the implementation of evidence-based initiatives in response to their learning needs.
- Build educator and teacher capacities via funding professional development, programs, resources and supports.
- Support inclusion via culturally safe and inclusive environments, and understanding and supporting diversity across children’s different learning and developmental needs.
Kindy Uplift is designed to complement, strengthen and intertwine into practices and programs that already exist at a kindergarten rather than act as an ‘add on’. It is a great opportunity to work with a kindergarten’s Quality Improvement Plan and target specific goals that a centre or service have to support children’s learning and support needs.

How does Kindy Uplift work with TAG?
Approved Kindergarten Program Providers seeking Kindy Uplift funding will undergo a planning process with an advisor. This planning is led by “data informed” conversations – including information collected at the child, parent, educator, service, school and community levels. They will work with Kindy Advisors to understand what they are seeing in their kindergarten, what the needs are based on the priority areas (listed below), and understand data/information from the Australian Early Development Census to guide how best to use their funding, plan their programs, support their inclusivity, and upskill their educators.
Kindy Uplift priority areas:
- Culturally safe, inclusive and responsive kindergarten programs
– Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives
– Equity and Access for all - Social and emotional learning
- Physicality
- Executive function
- Language and literacy
- Mathematics and numeracy
As an NDIS-registered early childhood service provider, TAG provides speech-language pathology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy services that may target/support one or multiple of the above priority areas if they are identified as a learning and development need within a Kindergarten Program. Examples of skills and knowledge areas that can be addressed include, but are not limited to, the below:
Speech Pathology Services | Occupational Therapy | Physiotherapy |

At TAG, Kindergarten providers will have the opportunity to complete a quoting process with one of our senior clinicians. Discussions will outline the provider’s desired outcomes and goals for Kindy Uplift funding, and from there a recommended service package will be provided and quoted, outlining the types of supports, programs and services that can be offered to achieve the Kindergarten’s goals. TAG staff will ensure that all services provided are responsive to the individual service needs via tailored services.
