TELEHEALTH

Telehealth (accessing health services via phone, web or videoconference) has been shown to be successful for a variety of medical and allied health applications. It can be useful for situations when distance or limited specialists available can be overcome by using technology. Unfortunately, very few researchers have so far attempted to apply this technology to help children and adults with disabilities.

Therapy Alliance Group provides telehealth consultations Australia-wide. We consult on all aspects of speech pathology, occupational therapy and dietetics care for children and adults. We do not yet provide physiotherapy telehealth consultations due to limited capacity currently.

These consultations are particularly useful for parents of a child with a disability or carers of an adult with a disability to provide support, training, and advice as well as direct therapeutic interventions. In some situations, we can address the challenges of more independent participation by the use of an Allied Health Assistant at the same location as the client to support their engagement in telehealth consultations.

Telehealth consultations enable remote, rural, housebound or transport limited clients to access both assessment and therapy services they otherwise might not have access to. You can book a TELETAG appointment the same as any therapy service.
